Ditched christmas tree in Eastern Harbour District Amsterdam This picture I submitted to the The lonely christmas tree picture album group on Facebook. Artist Andreas Schmidt started this group with the intention to create a publication containing the best submissions. The profits will go to a charity. It might not be a surprise that the picture raised comments like “real Amsterdam sadness!”, “depressing” and “what a dump!”.  The picture was taken at a corner in the IJ, Amsterdam’s waterfront, near the dam that connects the quay with the Java and KNSM islands. There all the debris seems to collect and apparently it was not cleaned up recently.
