Love the cover of the upcoming regular edition of Life’s a Beach by Martin Parr.
Martin Parr talking about his new book Life’s a Beach. I think you can enjoy this video as much as the book itself. I liked his remark about beach photography:
In America you have the street. In Britain we have the beach.
The book is printed in a limited edition of 1000 signed and numbered copies and I believe next year Aperture will publish a regular edition. The limited edition is a co-production between Editions Xavier Barral and Aperture.
For those who like lists, here is a list of Martin Parr’s best books of the decade compiled for the PhotoIreland Festival 2011. The title that surprises me most is How Terry Likes His Coffee by Florian van Roekel. The list is also published as an exhibition catalogue with comments by Parr together with illustrations and author’s notes.
